A significant upgrade will be used! The Lenovo Tab P12 Pro is coming!

Currently, the Lenovo is slated to augment its Tab P-series tablet series with a new variant soon. This “P12 Pro” is painted as a device with a former flagship processor – which is a surprise as its predecessor has a mid-range SoC. It is also depicted as having more RAM and running Android 11.

Lenovo has released a device called the Tab P11 Pro in 2020. Despite its name, the OEM saw fit to equip it with the mid-range Snapdragon 730G processor. Whereas, it now seems this issue might be addressed in this device’s successor.

A tablet with the name to match this description has reportedly popped up on the Google Play Console. This new listing also indicates that this Tab P12 Pro will be powered by the Snapdragon 855, Qualcomm’s flagship SoC from 2019.

Even though this chipset is much older, it still has a higher maximum clock-speed than the 730G, and is based on a 7 nanometer (nm) architecture, whereas the newer silicon is 8nm.

The new leak also suggests it will have 8GB of RAM, an improvement over the P11 Pro’s 6GB. Then again, the 2 devices will apparently share the same 2560×1600 resolution display. Then again, this new tip gives no further hints as to when this Lenovo Tab P12 Pro will be released, and how much it might cost at launch.

A Lenovo P11 Pro with 128GB of internal storage currently goes for US$500, or $100 off its original price, on Amazon right now.
