Attention! OnePlus 9 series starts Android 12 early adopter test and here is how to do that

In the early morning of May 19th, Android 12 was officially released. In addition to adopting the new design language Material You, security and privacy have also been further enhanced, and the UI design has also become more refreshing and mellow.

At present, the two models of the OnePlus 9 series, which are the OnePlus 9 and the OnePlus 9 Pro, have been the first to adopt Android 12 Beta firmware.

However, it should be noted that upgrading to Android 12 will erase all the contents of the phone. All OnePlus enthusiasts must make a backup before upgrading.

I learned from the OnePlus community that this Android 12 Beta is an early adopter. It is recommended for enthusiasts to try, but ordinary users are not recommended to use this version.

At present, there are known problems with the early adopter version: fingerprint function is not available, face recognition function is not available, video call function is not available, some interface displays are not beautiful enough, some apps may not work normally or use all functions.

At the same time, this version may have stability and performance issues and is not suitable for daily use, especially for non-developers.

It is reported that the detailed steps for flashing the stable version of OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro to the Android 12 Beta version are as follows:

1. Download the latest ROM upgrade compressed package from the designated server.

2. Copy the compressed package to the root directory of the phone

3. Open the phone’s settings -> software update -> the gear icon in the upper right -> click to manually select the installation package -> click the menu button in the upper left corner.

4. Click the model name below -> find the compressed package at the bottom of the page, click and choose to install it now.

5. Wait for the installation to complete and restart the phone.

6. After restarting, successfully upgrade the Android 12 Beta version (the first version of the developer preview version).

It is understood that Google’s officially announced Android 12 Beta 1 launchers include: Asus, Pixel, OnePlus, OPPO, Realme, Sharp, Tecno, TCL, Vivo, Xiaomi, and ZTE.

It is worth mentioning that the new Android 12 allows users to fully personalize their phones through custom color palettes and redesigned gadgets.

Using color extraction, users can choose their own wallpaper. The system will automatically determine which colors are the main ones, which ones are complementary, and which ones just look good, and can apply these colors to the entire operating system, including the notification bar and the lock screen, volume control, new gadgets, etc.
