Vivo X Fold+ With Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, 80W Fast Charging

The Vivo X Fold+ debuted in China on Monday with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, a slight boost from the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset included in the standard Vivo X Fold launched earlier this year. The new foldable smartphone from the Chinese tech giant features an 8.03-inch AMOLED inner display and a 6.53-inch AMOLED overlay display. The Vivo X Fold+ has a built-in 4,730mAh battery that supports 80W wired fast charging and 50W wireless fast charging.

Vivo X Fold+ price, availability

The Vivo X Fold+ comes in two configurations – 12GB RAM + 256GB storage and 12GB RAM + 512GB storage. The two models are priced at RMB 9,999 (approximately Rs 1,15,000) and RMB 10,999 (approximately Rs 1,25,000) on the Vivo China store.

This Vivo smartphone is available in black, blue and red. It will be available for the first time in China on Thursday at 10AM / 7:30AM EST.

Vivo X Fold+ specifications features

The smartphone features an 8.03-inch AMOLED main display with a resolution of 2K+ (1,916×2,160 pixels) and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. The Vivo X Fold+ also includes a 6.53-inch AMOLED overlay display with Full HD+ (1,080×2,520 pixels) resolution. Game Mode increases the touch sampling rate of these monitors to 140Hz and 240Hz, respectively. Under the hood, this foldable smartphone features a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC paired with an Adreno 730. It also has 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

In terms of optics, the Vivo X Fold+ features a quad-rear camera setup developed in partnership with Zeiss, with a 50-megapixel main camera prominently displayed. There’s also a 48-megapixel ultra-wide sensor, a 12-megapixel portrait shooter, and an 8-megapixel periscope camera with 5x optical zoom. There’s also a 16-megapixel selfie camera with an f/2.45 aperture on the front. This Vivo smartphone also features a front-facing camera on the external display.

Its 4,730mAh battery supports 80W wired and 50W wireless fast charging. The phone is 14.91mm thick when folded and approximately 7.40mm thick when unfolded. Vivo also suggests that the smartphone will weigh around 311 grams. It runs on OriginOS Ocean based on Android 12. Vivo X Fold+ comes with facial recognition and an under-display fingerprint sensor for security.

Vivo X Fold+ is a dual SIM (Nano) smartphone that supports 5G connectivity. It also comes with 2.4GHz and 5GHz dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5.2 and NFC support. Most of the smartphone’s specs are the same as the Vivo X Fold, which was launched earlier this year in April. As mentioned, the SoC has been upgraded from the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset to the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. The battery has also increased from 4,600mAh to 4,730mAh.
