Xiaomi expands MIUI 12.5 and Android 11 to Redmi Note 8 Pro in Europe

Xiaomi has started the MIUI 12.5 update for the Redmi Note 8 Pro this month. The update began with the company seeding the OTA to Mi Pilot Testers on the Global ROM but things are finally pushing on, with Xiaomi expanding the rollout to include European models of the Helio G90T-powered phone.

After kicking off with the update for Global ROM models a few weeks ago, Xiaomi is now expanding the MIUI 12.5 and Android 11 rollout for the Redmi Note 8 Pro. Owners of the device in Europe and Indonesia can now expect a 2.2 GB OTA that delivers MIUI 12.5, Android 11, and the July security patch.

The new update for the Redmi Note 8 Pro has the software version number “V12.5.2.0.RGGEUXM”. As previously stated, this particular build is for European models. It appears, however, that owners in France will not be receiving the update yet. This update delivers both MIUI 12.5 and Android 11. As it’s a full OS upgrade, it’s a sizeable download, weighing in at 2.2 GB.

There is a similar update at present, it is also expanding to the Indonesian model of the phone, with the OTA bearing the software designation “V12.5.2.0.RGGIDXM”. It appears to be the same build, so we expect this build to be the same size as the European update. As with the European OTA, this update delivers MIUI 12.5, Android 11, and the July security patch.
