Xiaomi Mi 12T, 12T Pro expected to be released during the global launch event on October 4: full details

The Mi 12T and 12T Pro models are expected to be widely released at the launch event, which has been confirmed to be hosted by Xiaomi and will go live on October 4th at 7:30pm IST. The Chinese manufacturer confirmed the incident via a tweet on Xiaomi’s official global Twitter handle. Xiaomi teased the launch with the tagline “Make Moments Mega”. The launch will be broadcast live on all of Xiaomi’s social media platforms, including Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, TikTok and the official website. The Mi 12T Pro is expected to feature a 200-megapixel rear image sensor. According to reports, the event could also see the launch of the Redmi Pad along with other product launches.

The teaser poster was also leaked by Twitter Abhishek Yadav on his Twitter feed a day before the official Xiaomi Global Twitter tweet.

Meanwhile, leaker Evan Blass (@evleaks) earlier tweeted leaked renders of the Mi 12T Pro and Mi 12T, revealing the speculative full design of the upcoming smartphone with the same design. The renders suggest that the upcoming Mi 12T Pro could feature a 200-megapixel triple rear camera setup with LED flash and a center-aligned punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera. Meanwhile, the rumored Mi 12T design includes a 108-megapixel triple rear camera setup with an LED flash; and the same punch-hole cutout on the front display.

According to reports, the Mi 12T Pro and Mi 12T may feature a power button and volume keys on the right side. At the bottom, the phone could feature a USB Type-C port for charging, a speaker grille, and a SIM tray, according to leaked renders. On top, the phones are expected to feature a secondary speaker grille and a noise-cancelling microphone alongside the Harman Kardon branding.

According to leaks and renders, the Pro version will be powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, while the 12T 5G version tends to house the MediaTek Dimensity 8100 SoC. Both smartphones are expected to feature a 5000mAh battery with 120W fast charging support, while running on MIUI 13 based on Android 12 out of the box and featuring a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate.
