Chrome’s Going To Drop Windows 7 Next Year

Windows 7 is an excellent build of the operating system, but it’s time to move on. We just got word from Android Police that Google Chrome will end support for Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 early next year.

This is what we should expect. Windows 7 debuted almost 13 years ago. Now that Windows 11 has launched, and Microsoft is talking about the end of life for Windows 10, it’s time for Windows 7 to go away.

Will you still be able to use Chrome on Windows 7?

On February 7, Chrome version 110 will be stable. This version is not supported on Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 computers. This means that if you’re running these versions of Windows, you won’t be able to install that version of Chrome, and you won’t be able to get any future versions.

However, you can still use current and older versions of Chrome on your computer. The problem is, if you’re using Windows 7 or 8.1, you’ll miss out on important security updates for Chrome.

That’s bad in any case, but if this is your work computer, it’s too bad. You’ll want to have these security patches and updates to help prevent your browser from being hacked.

This is why it is recommended that you upgrade to a newer version of Windows. At this point, you can get a Windows 10 computer anywhere.

Or, you can consider Windows 11

Windows 11 recently celebrated its one-year anniversary, and it has been getting stable updates since its debut in 2021.

Microsoft has stopped releasing major feature updates to Windows 10, so Windows 11 will get all the exciting new features. In addition to a new and more comprehensive design of the software, Windows 11 brings additional features.

One of the main features is the ability to use Android apps on it. You can access Android apps through the Amazon Appstore. There’s a lot to love about Windows 11, so if you think you’re capable, you might want to give it a shot.
