The POCO global Twitter account has announced the release date of two new Pro-branded smartphones, both of which have leaked previously. As expected, the company is bringing both the POCO M4 Pro and POCO X4 Pro 5G to market, although non-Pro models are also in the pipeline.

So far, POCO has only confirmed the pair’s release date, February 28 at 12:00 UTC. While not explicitly part of MWC 2022, POCO’s parent company Xiaomi will be attending this year’s conference. Like almost every Xiaomi launch event, it will be available to watch on social media platforms like Twitter and YouTube.

Incidentally, Xiaomi has already released the POCO M4 Pro 5G. As a result, we suspect this is the 4G model spotted on Geekbench last month by Nashville Chatter. Potentially, the POCO M4 Pro 5G could be a rebranded Redmi Note 11S 4G, both codenamed ‘fleur’.

Similarly, the POCO X4 Pro 5G appears to be a rebranded Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G too, which started shipping last week. Hence, the POCO X4 Pro 5G has a 120 Hz display, a Snapdragon 695 5G SoC and a 108 MP primary camera. However, SmartDroid has already got its hands on a retail unit and has published initial camera samples.
