On the evening of June 2, Huawei held a grand press conference and officially launched its self-developed operating system, HarmonyOS.

The system focuses on all-scenario interconnection operations, which can be adapted to almost all electrical equipment and realize the real interconnection of everything, which is a capability that Android and iOS did not have before.


That night, Huawei officially announced the details of the HarmonyOS 2 phone upgrade plan. In addition to covering almost all Huawei’s models in the past two years, it also includes dozens of Honor models before its independence, even covering the Glory 9 series being launched three years ago.

Specifically: Honor 30 series, V30 series, 20 series, V20 series, Honor X10 series, Honor Magic 2, Honor Tablet 6, X6, Honor Play4 series, etc. will be upgraded in the fourth quarter of this year; Honor 9 series, V9 series in the first half of next year , Honor 10 series, Honor V10 series, Honor 9X series, Honor Tablet 5 series, Honor Play3, etc. will also be upgraded.


After upgrading the HarmonyOS system, these old models will not only get many functional enhancements but will also get a qualitative leap in fluency and performance.


Dr. Wang Chenglu, President of Huawei’s Consumer Business Software Department, once introduced at the press conference that the HarmonyOS 2 system has been optimized in terms of the storage system, GPU/CPU rendering, etc., and has changed the underlying logic of the operating system. After prolonged use, the performance degradation rate is lower than other systems.

After 36 months of use, the sequential read speed of HarmonyOS has only dropped by 4.5%, iOS has dropped by 75%, and the sequential write speed of HarmonyOS 2 has dropped by 0.9%, and the random read/write rate has dropped by less than 5%. The iOS system The drop is about 20% to 30%.

Therefore, some of Honor’s old models will be rejuvenated after upgrading to HarmonyOS, and the final user experience effect is worth looking forward to.
