WhatsApp will add the self-destruct message function after reading in the iOS version

Following the addition of the self-destruct message function after reading on Android, Facebook will also update the WhatsApp application on iOS in the same way.

According to the WhatsApp information website WABetaInfo, if you apply to participate in the 2.21.140.9 version test on TestFlight, you can send photos and videos on WhatsApp that are destroyed immediately after viewing.

A timer button will be added to the dialogue, allowing the user to determine the length of time the recipient can watch the message, as shown in the figure below.

Unlike the previous time-limited message that will stay in the conversation for 7 days, the new feature will make the message disappear immediately after the recipient watches it, and the sender will receive a notification that the message has been opened.

It is worth noting that WABetaInfo pointed out that WhatsApp does not have any measures or functions to prevent users from taking screenshots, and the sender will not receive any notification or warning after the recipient of the message takes the screenshot.

On the other hand, opening a message as a recipient cannot prevent the sender from receiving notifications.

WhatsApp hopes that the updated features will encourage users to use WhatsApp for more reliable and in-depth communication.

They claimed in May that users who did not accept the new privacy agreement would not be able to continue using WhatsApp, but they changed their original decision at the end of the same month.
