According to Bloomberg News, Apple is developing a wireless charging accessory similar to AirPower. Apple wants to launch an accessory that supports simultaneous wireless charging of multiple devices.
Apple first released AirPower in September 2017 at the iPhone X conference. Apple said at the time that AirPower would be released at the end of 2018, but by March 2019, Apple announced that AirPower had been canceled.
AirPower was canceled because of many problems, such as mutual interference and overheating. Since AirPower was canceled, there have been rumors that Apple is still working hard, hoping to launch similar devices. This time, Bloomberg’s news was confirmed again.
Finally, Apple is still actively researching long-distance wireless charging, but it is still in its infancy, and it may take several years to officially launch it, or give up internally.
