iPhone 13 series and Apple Launch Event: Here is everything you need to know!

1.iOS 15 official version

For the official version of iOS 15 that many people are looking forward to, Apple said it will push it on September 20. Prior to this, iOS 15 RC (the quasi-official version version number is 19A344) has begun to update, which is only for users who participated in the closed beta before. iOS 15 makes FaceTime video calls more natural, launches the SharePlay sharing experience, and manages notifications in a new way to help users stay focused. At the same time, it is more intelligent to obtain information through photos and search. iOS 15 also includes new privacy control options for Siri, mail, and other aspects of the system to further protect user information.

2.iPhone 13 series

The iPhone 13 series still has four models, namely iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max. The size and appearance of the four phones are basically the same as the previous generation.

Let’s take a look at the iPhone 13 mini and iPhone 13 first. The biggest change in the appearance of these two phones is that the cameras have changed from the vertical arrangement of the iPhone 12 to the diagonal arrangement. At the same time, the bangs are reduced by 20% compared to the previous generation, and pink is added.

The diagonal design of the camera is estimated to be because Apple has placed the sensor displacement optical image stabilization technology on the iPhone 12 Pro Max to the iPhone 13 and mini. This leads to insufficient space, and the cameras can only be arranged staggered.

The iPhone 13 further enhances the 5G signal this time and supports more frequency bands.

The iPhone 13 series is equipped with a brand-new A15 bionic chip, using a 5nm process, a new display engine, and a video encoding and decoding unit.

iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max use the ProMotion adaptive refresh rate of up to 120Hz, which can vary from 10Hz to 120Hz, and the peak brightness can reach 1000 nits.

Compared with the previous generation, the battery life of iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max will be increased by 1.5 hours and 2.5 hours, respectively. While the screen quality is higher, the battery life has maintained the increase.

These two models are also equipped with the A15 bionic processor, but the GPU of the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max has reached 5 cores, which is one more core than the GPU of the iPhone 13 and 13 mini.

In addition to the classic black and white colors, the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max also bring blue and gold, and still use a stainless steel frame.

3.Apple Watch 7

First of all, in terms of design, the seventh generation of the new Apple Watch did not change the rounded frame to a straight edge like the exposed spy photos.

The appearance has not changed much from the previous generations. Compared with the previous generation, the dial has an increased display area of 20%, the screen extends to the edge of the curved surface, the indoor brightness of the dial has increased by 70%, and the frame has been narrowed by 1.7mm.

It is worth mentioning that this time Apple also thickened the glass on the watch surface by 50%, the thickest part reached twice that of the 6th generation, and passed the IP6X dust-proof certification and WR50 50-meter waterproof certification.

Apple Watch has also made some optimizations in the logic of the dial. For example, when displaying text messages, the compact layout can accommodate more information on a limited dial, and the content that originally required sliding pages can now be displayed on one page.

4.iPad 2021 & iPad mini 6

The first new iPad product brought to us by this Apple conference is the 2021 basic iPad. Compared with the previous generation, the appearance of the 2021 iPad is basically unchanged. It still uses a 10.2-inch display with a narrow bezel design.

The biggest upgrade this time is that the processor has been upgraded from the previous A12 to the A13 bionic processor. This processor was launched by Apple in 2018 and was first used in the iPhone Xs series.

In addition to the processor, the basic iPad has an important upgrade, that is, its front camera has been upgraded to a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle, and it also supports the “centered character” function that was originally only available on the 2020 iPad Pro.

In addition, the 2021 iPad finally starts to support the original color display of the screen, which can automatically adjust the screen color temperature according to the environment.

The iPad mini 6 uses a four-sided, equal-width, full-screen design like the iPad Air 4. The fingerprint recognition button is integrated into the physical power button, and the charging interface is changed from Lightning to an extremely advanced USB-C interface.

The color scheme of the iPad mini 6 has also increased from the original two colors of space gray and silver to four colors of space gray, pink, purple and starlight.

The screen used in the iPad mini 6 is an 8.3-inch Liquid retina display with a resolution of 2266 x 1488 and a PPI of 326. It also supports original color display, P3 wide color gamut display and ultra-low reflectivity, with a peak brightness of 500 nits.

In terms of performance, the iPad mini 6 does not use the M1 chip, but it is equipped with Apple’s new-generation A15 bionic processor. This processor uses a 5nm process, the CPU has two large cores and four small cores, and the GPU has five graphics processing cores.

According to Apple’s official introduction, the CPU performance of this processor can be increased by up to 40%, and the graphics processing speed can be increased by up to 80%. The machine learning speed can be increased up to 2 times the original, and the overall performance improvement is very obvious.

The iPad mini 6 has also been upgraded in terms of cameras. Not only has the front camera been replaced with a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, but its rear camera has also been upgraded from the original 8-megapixel wide-angle lens to 12 million pixels, and the original color flash has also been added.
