Recently, I have been tossing about desktop wireless. How to make the desktop more tidy and multi-purpose is a good idea. With the iPhone 12 bringing magnetic accessories to an unprecedented level, PITAKA, a traditional magnetic accessory, suddenly appeared in everyone’s field of vision. Mag Dock Pro+Qi Pad is an All-in-One wireless charging product that was successfully crowdfunded abroad. It was only recently launched on domestic e-commerce stores. What attracts me to this product is that it can wirelessly charge two mobile phones and one smartwatch at the same time, or charge mobile phone+airpods+watch at the same time, and can be used as a power bank alone. For the dual-device party, who owns Samsung + iPhone + smartwatches, it is almost tailored for me. One product solves three problems and is more friendly to wireless desktops.
The small one on the left is Qi Pad, and the big one on the right is Mag Dock Pro. Qi Pad is actually a complete horizontal wireless charging board, but it has a dedicated interface that can be used with Mag Dock Pro to expand a charging module. Mag Dock Pro is the main body, and most of the functions are integrated with this Dock.
Let’s take a look at the Mag Dock Pro first. There are the following things in the accessory bag: magnetic patch, 30W C-mount fast charging head, 4 different sizes (38mm-44mm) watch charging brackets, C2C charging cable, iPhone Lighting adapter.
The other is the Mag Dock Pro host, positioning stickers, non-slip mats, and other objects. PITAKA’s magnetic products usually come with positioning stickers and magnetic stickers. This is because PITAKA’s products are ecological. If you bought a magnetic charging stand and did not purchase a magnetic phone case, then your phone may not be able to hold it up. Positioning stickers and magnetic stickers can allow you to firmly attach them to a non-magnetic phone case. Place your mobile phone within the range of the corresponding mobile phone as shown in the figure, and stick the magnetic sticker according to the prompts.
Mag Dock Pro is a simple barrel shape, the back is the C port charging interface, the right side is the interface for magnetic Qi Pad, the raised bracket is used to clamp the watch strap. On the left is the wireless charging zone of the watch. You can first select the appropriate base according to the size of the watch, then put the watch on it, it will automatically be magnetically attracted, and the watchband surrounds and inserts it on the bracket on the right.
The top of Mag Dock Pro is PITAKA’s aramid fiber. 1500D ensures that the product is wear-resistant and durable. The outer side of the garden is a non-slip silicone pad. With its own relatively large magnetic attraction, the phone is very stable after being placed. At the same time, because my Mag Dock Pro has a built-in 7800 mAh battery, it can also be used as a power bank when going out. The bottom middle is the Home button, the two indicators on the left side of the top are wireless connection indicators, and the four indicators on the right are power indicators.
Qi Pad alone can be used as a wireless horizontal charging pad, supporting 10W wireless fast charging. The top is also an aramid fiber structure, but there is a small crescent-shaped white notch on the left, which is used in conjunction with the Mag Dock Pro to become a wireless charging kit. The charging cable that Qi Pad comes with is of good quality, and both ends are designed with carbon fiber texture.
The head of Mag Dock Pro can actually be rotated and changed. You can choose horizontal charging or vertical charging. However, compared to the PITAKA MagEZ Juice2 vertical charger or other vertical chargers, the Mag Dock Pro stands at a relatively flat angle. Although the screen content can be seen, if the face unlock does not have the right height match, don’t think about it.
The head and base are fixed together by magnetic attraction, open it for a look. There are 5 large metal magnetic pieces and full metal contact pieces and rings. Suck it tightly so you don’t have to worry about it falling off.
Open the small crescent next to Qi Pad, Qi Pad can be perfectly magnetically attracted to Mag Dock Pro. You only need to power Mag Dock Pro to charge two devices wirelessly at the same time.
I can charge my Samsung S10+ and iPhone 12 Pro at the same time. It is currently a dual-use device. Among them, Samsung S10+ uses PITAKA’s magnetic phone case. The two can be used together to form a perfect magnetic ecology, and the experience is good. If you don’t want to spend more money on the phone case, you can also use the complimentary magnetic sticker.
Another feature I am looking forward to is to charge my watch, because every time I charge the watch, I have to take out a special charger. It would be great if one thing is used for three purposes. The left side of the charger is the charging area of the watch. The charging power is 3W. After inserting the appropriate bracket according to the size of the watch, then put the watch on, wind the strap to the other side, and it will be stable.
But the idea is beautiful, the reality is cruel. There is no doubt that Mag Dock Pro is designed for square smartwatches such as Apple Watch. A round Samsung watch like mine, with or without a bracket, is completely unable to be magnetically close to the charging area! In other words, Apple Watch can be used. If it is Samsung or Huawei watch with a round dial, don’t think about it. This is definitely a bug that the designer did not take into account. I’m so angry, I wanted to charge the watch! Before you buy, you must read clearly, this is designed for Apple Watch.
Because of the built-in 7800 mAh rechargeable battery, Mag Dock Pro can charge C-mount mobile phones through the built-in C2C cable. After installing the included Lighting interface, you can also charge the iPhone. Bayonet design with good details. You can fill the iPhone twice, and the emergency use of mobile phones and watches is basically no problem.
There are buttons and indicator lights at the bottom of Mag Dock Pro. Press the Home button in the middle and press it once to display the battery level, as shown in the four white battery indicator lights; press twice to turn on the power, and then you can put the phone on it for wireless charging (plugin for wired charging) On). If you press for 6 seconds, the blue light on the left of the two indicator lights on the left flashes (the green light on the right represents power on), then you can connect to the Mag Dock Pro APP and the Mag Dock Pro on the phone. Receive various information about Dock on the mobile phone.
Since my Samsung watch cannot be charged with the Dock, I use Samsung S10+ and iPhone 12 Pro to charge, and the charging power is 22.5W. When using a single mobile phone to charge, whether it is Apple or Samsung, the power is about 13W, which is not fast for Android’s terrible fast charging speed, but for Apple that supports 15W wireless charging, it can basically fill the Dock to the highest 10W charging data. For wireless charging of a single device, Mag Dock Pro supports up to 10W. After the Qi Pad is installed, an additional 10W wireless charging capacity can be obtained. There are some data differences, which may be affected by the charging of the Mag Dock Pro’s own built-in battery.
For me, apart from not supporting the charging of the round Samsung watch, I am quite satisfied with its appearance, weight, size, and magnetic attraction. For Apple users, the experience should be better.
