Xiaomi and OPPO folding screen phones will debut this year

In recent years, major international manufacturers such as Huawei, Samsung, and motorcycles have all made efforts to fold screen mobile phones, and even have launched a number of iterative products. Recently, Huawei also brought the latest Mate X2 folding screen flagship.

But it is a pity that mainstream manufacturers such as Xiaomi, OPPO, and vivo have been silent for a long time. Although they have shown relevant engineering mobile phones long ago, mass production of mobile phones has been pending.

However, this situation may be about to usher in a huge change this year.

According to Korean media reports, the well-known local panel manufacturer Samsung Display is developing foldable OLED panels for other manufacturers, and will supply them to manufacturers such as Xiaomi, OPPO, and Google. Its mass-produced models will be officially unveiled during the year.

According to reports, Samsung provides OPPO with a foldable display panel. Its overall design is similar to the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip model, but the screen size is 7.7 inches, which is a lap larger than the Z Flip’s overall size.

Xiaomi is equipped with an internal folding screen similar to that of Huawei Mate X2, and it is reported that it will also adopt an internal and external dual-screen solution. The internal folding main screen is 8.03 inches.

A 6.38-inch secondary screen is used on the outside. Since the size of the secondary screen is sufficient to meet the needs of daily use, it can also avoid frequent folding of the screen and affect durability.

It is worth mentioning that Xiaomi’s first folding screen engineering machine has been exposed before, and the picture shows that Xiaomi’s folding screen phone does adopt an internal folding scheme, and the screen size after unfolding is very huge.

Although Xiaomi officially has not disclosed relevant information at present, according to Xiaomi’s previous product planning, the technological exploration of the screen will be launched by the MIX series. Previously, Xiaomi officially confirmed that it will launch the MIX 4 model this year.
