Xiaomi launches new accessories for Redmi K40 series

The release time of the Redmi K40 series will be on February 25. As the launch event is approaching, the official has gradually revealed some of the parameter configurations and functional highlights of the Redmi K40 series. At least the key information has been basically announced, only some details, and the final specific pricing of the product will not be announced until the launch event. What is interesting is that before the eve of the Redmi K40 series launch event, Xiaomi launched a new accessory-GaN gallium nitride charger 33W, and this accessory may be born for the Redmi K40 series.

As the power of smartphone chargers continues to increase, and the volume of chargers continues to increase, GaN gallium nitride has become a new solution for most smartphone manufacturers to create chargers in 2020. Compared with traditional chargers, GaN nitride gallium chargers are not only smaller in size, but also have higher charging efficiency. Even many mobile phone manufacturers use them as standard equipment for smartphones.

Xiaomi’s new GaN gallium nitride charger supports up to 33W of charging power. It is equipped with a Type-C interface and comes with a 3A current C to C charging cable. Of course, because the 33W charging power is not high, this charger can’t charge for most laptops.

Compared with Xiaomi’s traditional 33W USB-C charger, this GaN gallium nitride charger that also supports up to 33W power is reduced by 56% in size. When the 4500mAh battery of the Redmi K30 Extreme Edition is charged with this GaN gallium nitride charger, it only takes 58 minutes to fully charge the entire battery with 100% power.

In addition, most charging devices that support Type-C interface, including iPhone12 and Switch, can use this charger for fast charging, and it is compatible with 5V/3A, 9V/3A, 11V/3A, 12V/2.5A, and other output power.

Although it can only be confirmed that the Redmi K40 series will be equipped with a 4520mAh battery as standard, the official has not disclosed the fast charging power supported by the Redmi K40 series, but according to the previous 3C certification network information, it can be known that the Redmi K40 series should be all support 33W wired fast charging solution. Redmi, which has always pursued the ultimate cost performance, may also be equipped with this 33W gallium nitride charger as standard. However, if an environmental protection solution is proposed, users may also be able to choose the charger by themselves. The pricing of gallium nitride chargers is only ¥10 higher than the pricing of the traditional charger with the same power.
