The self-developed aerial charging pile has built-in 5 phase interference antennas, which can position the mobile phone in millisecond space and accurately detect the position of the mobile phone. The phase control array composed of 144 antennas transmits millimeter waves to the mobile phone through beamforming.
On the mobile phone side, Xiaomi has also self-developed the miniaturized design of the antenna array, with a built-in “beacon antenna” and “receiving antenna array”. The beacon antenna broadcasts location information in the space field through low power consumption. The receiving antenna array composed of 14 antennas converts the millimeter-wave signal emitted by the charging pile into electric energy through the rectifier circuit, realizing the science fiction air-space charging experience.
At present, Xiaomi’s air-to-air charging technology has achieved 5 watts of long-distance charging for a single device within a radius of several meters. Not only that, but multiple devices can also be charged at the same time (each device supports 5 watts), and even foreign objects will not reduce the charging efficiency.
