The news source OXIR pointed out that the Google Pixel 6 series is pre-installed with the Android 12 operating system. The 5-year Android update means that the Google Pixel 6 will be upgraded to Android 13, Android 14, Android 15 and Android 16.
This is also the first flagship phone confirmed to be upgraded to the Android 16 operating system.
It is worth noting that before Google Pixel 6, Google will usually provide a three-year Android major version update for Pixel phones.
Now that the Pixel 6 series will receive 5 years of Android update support, Google has not officially confirmed whether the previous generation Pixel 5 will enjoy the treatment of the Pixel 6 series.
